Your perfect partner is just 41 miles away

Many people might feel as though they will never find their ideal partner, but in all likelihood they are just around the corner.

New research by mobile app Lovoo has found Mr or Miss Right usually lives 41 miles away, so it is worth keeping up the search and retaining the belief you will find the person you are looking for.

The company surveyed 2,000 adults who are with their perfect partner and found 38 per cent fell for someone who lives in the same town as them, while one in five managed to fall in love within the confines of a village.

On average though, you will have to travel a touch over 40 miles to find the person you are meant to be with.

While meeting in a pub or bar is still the most common way to get together with a new partner, some of you might be wise to give online dating a go. After all, the web is responsible for putting thousands of couples in touch, so it is known to work.

Benjamin Bak, founder of the app, said: "When you're single all you can think about is if, and when you're going to meet the love of your life and where you will meet them. This research should be encouraging to anyone hoping to find a partner as it shows that they aren't on the other side of the world or hundreds of miles away."

He went on to explain the odds suggest most of you will end up with someone who lives reasonably close to where you do. After all, distance can be a major factor in people's decision whether to start a new relationship, so looking hundreds of miles away is unlikely to be a popular policy.

Indeed, 18 per cent of respondents said they are only interested in a relationship with someone who lives within 24 miles of them.

Of course, with online dating sites, you will be able to filter your searches so that you view only those who live near to you.
