A teenager is set to run the equivalent of six-and-a-half marathons in one month in an effort to raise money for a military charity.

Josh Kinsley is undertaking the challenge to collect cash for Help for Heroes (H4H), the Hull Daily Mail reports.

The youngster – who attends the City of Hull Amateur Boxing Club in his spare time – intends to cover six miles every day of January in order to hit his target.

He was inspired to do something to help the charity after seeing a presentation put on by Hull FC rugby league club.

"I had a lump in my throat watching it. I came home and said I wanted to raise some money for the injured soldiers," Josh stated.

The 15-year-old already runs quite a bit as part of his boxing training, but admitted this will be a much bigger challenge than anything he has ever attempted before.
