A youngster is going to complete a half marathon for Help for Heroes (H4H) after being inspired by the actions of an injured soldier.

Craig Richardson lost the lower part of one of his legs while serving on the front line in 2008, but managed to complete the 2011 London Marathon using a carbon-fibre running blade, the Norfolk Eastern Daily Press reports.

After hearing about Mr Richardson's achievement, Ria Bush decided to enter the Warwick Half Marathon, which is taking place on March 17th.

"I just think Craig is such a positive person. He is so inspirational. He is such a nice guy and there was no way that he was not going to do it," Ms Bush stated.

The 21-year-old – who is in the middle of training for the run – is hoping to collect plenty of cash for H4H, which helps injured servicemen and women when they return to the UK.
