A couple from York are ready to take on an arduous 300-mile cycling challenge in a bid to raise cash for Help for Heroes.
Rachael Vardy, 22, and her boyfriend Patrick Davison, 23, will pedal across Vietnam over the course of eight days as they aim to travel from Ho Chi Minh to Hanoi, reports the York Press.
Mr Davison serves as a Lance Corporal in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, so it is clear that the good cause is one that is close to their hearts.
"With Patrick in the army and if, God forbid, something ever happened to him, I would like the reassurance that someone would be there to help him," Ms Vardy stated.
During their lengthy ride, the couple will experience Vietnam's beautiful countryside and stop to visit numerous war memorials from its chequered past.
Ms Vardy noted they will be riding alongside a number of other Help for Heroes supporters.
