Finalists on the hit television talent show X Factor are teaming up to release a single to raise money for injured servicemen and women.

The 16 acts – including performers such as Cher Lloyd and Mary Byrne – will record a cover of the David Bowie record Heroes.

Proceeds raised from the song – which was originally released in 1977 – are to go towards the Help for Heroes charity.

It is set to hit shelves on November 7th and the funds generated through its sales will be utilised to help the organisation collect the £44 million it requires in order to build recovery centres to help the rehabilitation of wounded troops.

And according to the Sun, the release is "a dead certainty" to make its way to the top of the UK singles chart.

Members of staff at Romans Lettings recently took part in an exercise bike fundraiser and generated around £1,600 for the Help for Heroes cause.
