Hundreds of women were duped into flashing their boobs as part of a fake charity campaign, it has been revealed.

The women were following a Twitter hashtag which encouraged the women to post the sexy selfies with a bottle of diet coke, supposedly in aid of cancer awareness.

The #HoldACokeWithYourBoobsChallenge was launched by a porn scout who was reported to have tricked both men and women to pose with a soft drinks can on their chest and post it online.

While some women used their cleavage to hold the soft drink, others were a little more inventive and used tape.

However, what they did not realise was that the hashtag was completely fake and in fact created to make fun of other genuine initiatives such as the Ice Bucket Challenge.

Porn scout Danny Frost and glamour model Gemma Jaxx have revealed that they are the ones who started the hashtag.

The hashtag was never intended to raise money.

However, after receiving criticism from enraged campaigners, the pair have now decided to turn it into a genuine fundraising initiative for cancer charities.

On Facebook, Mr Frost wrote: "OK once again just for all of our naysayers and haters [sic]. When we started #HoldACokeWithYourBoobsChallenge, we did it as a joke … We never thought it would take off like it did. But it did.

"And then people started posting it was for charity and it was for breast cancer awareness. We had never plan on that nor thought of it. But since that's what people want to do it for, we said why not do something good with this. So we went with it."

A large number of images have already been posted online showing mainly topless women attempting to cover their nipples while holding a can of coke in their breasts, with the majority of those taking part thinking they were raising money for cancer.

The Breast Cancer Foundation revealed they are not affiliated with the event but would gladly accept donations.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801791352-ADNFCR
