Woman rescued after climbing down ex's chimney naked

Woman rescued after climbing down ex's chimney naked

People will do crazy things for love, but despite the fact Valentine's Day is still well over a month away, a woman in California has taken things to an all new level when trying to pay her ex boyfriend an impromptu visit.

Perhaps inspired by the antics of Santa Claus just two weeks ago, reports from the town of Woodcrest say that a woman had to be rescued after she decided to strip fully naked and try to climb down the chimney to gain access to the house.

CBS said that Woodcrest firefighters were called to the home after the man was awoken by the cries of his former lover in the very early hours of the morning. He found her lodged firmly in the chimney, and firefighters had to remove portions of the outer wall to remove the unfortunate woman from it.

She claimed that she had been trying to open the door of the house to talk to the unnamed man, who is the father of her three children, but could not, so she decided to scale the roof, remove all of her clothing and slide down the chimney.

What the woman failed to realise was that the gap quickly narrowed, and she became stuck fast in an area measuring just 12 inches by 12 inches. It took firefighters a full two hours to break her out.

This is not the only example of fire crews being called to rescue someone from a strange place this week, however. A woman in Plymstock, Devon, had to be rescued from a wardrobe in her home after she was locked in. The culprit? Her one-year-old daughter.

A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: "A fire appliance was mobilised from Plymstock fire station and, on arrival, confirmed there was an adult locked in the under stairs cupboard as well as a one-year-old child locked in the property."
