A woman has written a book about how online dating helped her to find love.

Amy Webb used her background in data analysis to reverse-engineer the ideal online dating profile and has now put this experience into Data, A Love Story: How I Gamed Online Dating to Meet My Match.

The book follows her attempts to meet Mr Right – Ms Webb eventually married someone she had first connected with through the web.

Among the discoveries the woman made are that aspirational language is essential if people want to get ahead online.

Writing messages such as 'I want to travel to…' or 'A big ambition of mine is…' will help to draw in the attention of the reader and should increase their chances of securing a date.

Ms Webb added playing hard to get is not necessarily the best course of action, as ladies should not be afraid to send the first message to any men they like the look of.
