A man from Wiltshire is set to complete a lengthy walk in aid of two charities that are close to his heart.
Mike Davis from Royal Wootton Bassett is set to tackle the South West Coastal Path, with all of the money he raises going to Help for Heroes and the Wiltshire Air Ambulance, reports the Swindon Advertiser.
Mr Davis, 63, has been keen to finish the South West Coastal Path – which stretches for 630 miles – ever since he first read about it 20 years ago.
He said: "It's my mountain in life. I thought it was a good opportunity to raise money for Help for Heroes and Wiltshire Air Ambulance."
Now he has retired from his role as a mechanical transport technician in the RAF, Mr Davis believes it is the perfect time to complete the challenge.
He will set out from Minehead, Somerset on April 1st, before walking around the south-west coast all the way to Poole in Dorset.
