About 20 women from Whitburn in South Tyneside are to pose for a racy calendar to raise money for Help for Heroes (H4H).

The ladies are hoping to raise as much money as possible for the armed forces charity, the Sunderland Echo reports.

Those taking part are going to unveil the results of the shoot at the village's Grey Horse pub on August 4th.

Joanne Atherton, one of the organisers, stated: "We like to support Help for Heroes when we can. This year, a few of us thought it was about time us women joined in and did something of our own."

She added all of those who took part got into the spirit of the event, which helped a lot as some of the ladies were nervous about baring all.

Ms Atherton went on to note a catwalk lingerie show is also going to be staged to coincide with the launch of the calendar.
