Men up and down the country are sure to spend plenty of time discussing what they are looking for in a girlfriend – and new research has revealed what most of them are saying.

A survey conducted by Lovoo found guys are very particular when it comes to working out everything about their dream partner.

For instance, the girl in question will be 5 ft 5 inches tall, have no tattoos on her skin, have a liking for white wine and support Manchester United.

The study of 2,000 men found these are some of the most in-demand traits of the perfect girlfriend, while others included her driving a Mini Cooper, speaking with an Irish accent and loving nothing more than a roast dinner.

Ideally, she will work as a nurse or a teacher, and her hair will be brown. While most men said she would look nicer if she wears makeup, this must be subtle at all times.

The app's founder Benjamin Bak said: "It seems that British men have very specific tastes for a girl to live up to. We know that everyone has a favourite hair colour and sometimes even eye colour and height.

"But we think that avoiding a women because she might support an opposing football team or enjoy a different genre of films to you might be being a bit too picky."

Men were even asked to pick out the celebrities who most resemble their perfect girlfriend, with Jessica Ennis, Kelly Brook, Cheryl Cole and Denise Van Outen named as the most popular candidates.

When it comes to the television, she will enjoy Game of Thrones, Coronation Street, Friends and Match of the Day. Hobbies should include reading, going out to dinner and travelling.

Bumping into such a girl by chance seems a little unlikely, so signing up for an online dating site is perhaps the best bet.

After all, those who do so will be able to check out many of the most important details on a girl's profile before deciding whether to take things any further.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801691399-ADNFCR
