Online daters compiling their personal profiles may find listing all the places they have travelled to helps boost their chances of landing a date.

This is because a new Intrepid Travel survey has shown a person's sex appeal improves if they have a sense of adventure and are open to new experiences, the Herald Sun reports.

According to the research, more than half of survey respondents find well-travelled individuals more attractive.

It was found that while 23 per cent are most drawn to adrenaline-seekers, 22 per cent desire adventurers who traverse off the beaten track and 16 per cent favour culture vultures.

Jo Stewart, spokeswoman at Intrepid Travel, noted: "Travellers are generally considered curious about the world, open minded and adventurous – all of which are attractive qualities."

The poll also revealed 96 per cent of online daters interested in broadening their horizons would prefer likeminded users when searching for potential partners.
