When autumn comes around, arachnophobes countrywide start to cower in fear over the arrival of more and more house spiders into homes, and this year we've been warned that the blistering summer we experienced could lead to there being even larger spiders than ever before.

That's not all, though, as a new report seems to suggest that our eight-legged friends are going through the different eras of human history. According to Metro, spiders are just entering their own 'stone age'. Still 4,000 years behind us, sure, but are they catching up?

The enterprising arachnids are making use of stones to help them. An image from the US shows one spider which has taken to weaving a large stone into its web. Whether the suspended boulder is for protection against the wind or a trap for prey, and indeed how such a small spider got the stone there, is still a mystery. However, what is certain is that this little creature seems to have bulked up and is advancing.

Scary stuff, indeed…

Elsewhere in the world of weird and interesting news, one festival attendee in Georgia, USA, has enjoyed the sort of weekend he's unlikely to ever forget after he was found in the woods by a hunter just south of Atlanta a full four days after the event he had been at had finished.

The sportsman, Casey Sanders, had been walking alone in the Chattahoochee Hills when he heard a shout and looked down from his path to see a man standing naked in a small stream.

After a brief chat, it was discovered that the gentleman had been attending the nearby TomorrowLand festival the weekend before, and had got into an altercation with some other attendees, who had then beaten him up and left him alone in the woods.

Although confused at first, Mr Sanders said he eventually called a phone number the man provided him with and took him to the road, where someone was ready to collect him. ADNFCR-2867-ID-801754483-ADNFCR
