Servicemen who have arms and legs amputated will be given the chance to have new ones fitted courtesy of the NHS, it has been announced.

Nine new NHS sites in the UK will offer the chance for new limbs, health minister Dr Dan Poulter confirmed during a visit to the Help for Heroes (H4H) Tedworth House Recovery Centre, reports the Sun.

He thanked the former military personnel in attendance and said the country will do all it can to look after them.

"It's a huge record of service and it's absolutely right we make sure we do everything we possibly can now to look after you for the rest of your lives," Dr Poulter stated.

H4H aims to raise as much money as possible to fund support schemes for injured ex-servicemen and it backed a recent campaign by the newspaper to have NHS centres offering the potential for new arms and legs.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801542562-ADNFCR
