Veterans in south and west Wales with hearing problems are to be offered free hearing instruments.
Hearing Aid Solutions has teamed up with Help for Heroes (H4H) and Phonak – one of the world's leading manufacturers of hearing instruments – in order to offer ex-armed forces members state-of-the-art equipment for no charge, the Carmarthen Journal reports.
Martyn Scott, who runs Hearing Aid Solutions, was in the RAF for nine years and so he understands some of the challenges that soldiers face after they are discharged.
"It's a charity I am delighted to support and it's a privilege to have this opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our brave servicemen and women," he added.
Head of welfare at H4H Kathy Knell labelled the move a step in the right direction that will help out a lot of returning troops, as it will improve their quality of life.
