Such is the popularity of online dating that the medium is resulting in an increase in pregnancies in the US, it has been suggested.

In an article on ADI News, Mark Whysall noted the number of people meeting via the web could result in the country witnessing a baby boom in the next five years.

The expert observed: "The interesting affect that is happening is that there seems to be a trend of births across the nation that are being attributed to couples meeting on online dating sites."

Many individuals have welcomed the news, claiming the nation would benefit from such a boom, Mr Whysall stated.

He added people are also generally happier than they were a few years ago, thanks to the rocketing popularity of internet courtship.

And those turning their attention to the medium may want to look at a new book that has been published on the subject, which is entitled The Real Online Game for the Real Online Dater by Joshua Pompey.
