A UK schoolboy got more than he bargained for when making a bit of toast.

William Evans was slicing his way through a multi-grain brown loaf when he found a dead lizard in it.

The youngster stated: "I took the wrapping off and found the lizard inside. It was about two to three inches long. It certainly put me off my toast."

William's mother had purchased the bread from Tesco and it certainly puts a new spin on their Every Little Helps slogan.

When the boy's father got in contact with the retail giant, he was told it was impossible for a lizard to get into one of its loaves.

Mr Evans remarked he is thinking of reporting the incident to environmental health as he is unhappy with the response he has received.

I suppose it could have been worse for young William, he could've eaten the snack without realising what was inside.
