Knowing what to do on a first date can sometimes be a little bit of a nightmare.

Often there is so much to think about, and you will be wondering whether the other person likes you as much as you like them.

Sometimes you can get so sidetracked in the emotion of it all, that you forget to pay as much attention to what you will actually do when you meet.

Nowadays, there is so much choice out there, and there are lots of fun, and interesting things you can do on your date.

Whether it is your first, second or third date, our ideas below, will give you plenty of food for thought when you finally arrange to meet up.

Pub

There is a lot to be said for going to a pub on a date. Actually, this is probably one of the most common things people do, when meeting up – particularly for the first time.

However not all pubs are created equal. Therefore rather than just blindly opting for your local Wetherspoons, why not instead go for a traditional English pub in the countryside, or an independent chain with superior quality food and ale.

You will probably find that these little things, help to make your date that much more interesting and enjoyable.

Go for a picnic

Heading out for a traditional walk in the park is another thing that couples tend to do on a date.

But next time you go, why not take a bottle of wine with you and a few sandwiches, and make it a date to remember?

Go to a roller disco!

Many towns and cities across the country hold a roller disco every so often, where you don a pair of skates inside a large sports hall or gymnasium and dance the night away to the music.

It is lots of fun and you can show off your dance moves to – or with – your partner.

Choose a random movie

Another great idea for a first date is to choose a random movie, and go and see it together. Even if it turns out to be naff, at least you can both laugh your way through it.

In a way, it is a win-win situation. If the film turns out to be fantastic – you'll both have something to talk about.

If it turns out to be a flop – studies in the past have suggested that people tend to bond more quickly over a mutual dislike.

Bowling

Bowling is another great thing to do on a first date. It is a lighthearted activity that you can both get involved in, and lightens the atmosphere a little.

It is a little bit of an old-fashioned idea, but it means that the two of you can enjoy a drink together, and participate in some friendly competition.

The loud background noise adds to the fun atmosphere and takes the pressure off both of you.

Visit a casino

If you are a serious gaming fan, why not head down to your local casino for a little bit of fun?

Here you will find plenty of music, games and other activities to enjoy together, and release your inner child!

Dancing

There is nothing better than dancing the night away with your partner. Whether you are into salsa, ballroom dancing, disco, or a normal club night, the options are virtually endless.

It will also give you the opportunity to show off your dance moves to your partner. If things go really well, you may even be in for a slow dance at the end of the night!ADNFCR-2867-ID-801788220-ADNFCR
