A team of golf industry professionals have raised more than £30,000 for brave soldiers injured while serving their country.

The group of 11 friends conquered the Three Peaks Challenge and generated £30,169.58 in the process, which is to be donated to Help for Heroes' Battle Back initiative.

Comprising of workers from all areas of the sector, the group took just 22 hours and 45 minutes to scale three of the biggest mountains in the UK – Snowdon, Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike.

Club Car national account manager for Europe Kevin Hart said: "Everyone was astounded with the money raised, which reflects the generosity of the golf industry and the support of this worthwhile cause."

He added servicemen – some of whom he met on the day the cheque was handed over – are very inspirational people.

The Liverpool Echo recently reported a Help for Heroes concert has been arranged at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall and will include acts such as the Mersey Beatles and Sense of Sound.
