Single soldiers looking for love should be aware that there are no rules to dating and many approaches exist.

This is the advice of expert Kira Sabin, who explains in the Huffington Post many people place too much emphasis on what they think they should be doing, rather than what feels natural.

She says people should not rely on "a huge amount of expectations that no one can live up to and you [should] communicate what you are looking for".

Those who have clicked with someone on an online dating site might like to head somewhere for a date.

Ms Sabin suggests doing something fun and informal, such as heading to an art show and critiquing the work or taking a dance class together.

Paying attention to first impressions is a good idea, as ADI News recently said this is something that can stick with a person forever, even if it is an opinion formed over the internet.
