A theatre show is being put on in Rotherham to collect money for Help for Heroes.
The production is being held in honour of Private Matthew Thornton – who was killed in service in Afghanistan in November 2011 – on April 20th at the Dearne Playhouse, which was re-opened in 2006 after extensive refurbishment.
All proceeds from ticket sales – as well as a raffle and donation boxes – will be given to the military charity and the target is £2,000.
Organiser Laura Hoyle stated the variety event is being put on for "all of those who have loved and lost someone in the armed forces".
She told the Doncaster Free Press that attendees will be able to see "astonishing dances, songs and dramatic performances".
Nicky Lynam School of Performing Arts, Links for Youth and the Wendy Charles School of Dance are among those who will be taking part.
