At this time of year, and probably before, the large supermarkets up and down the country will be starting to roll out their festive foods yet again, with stuffing, turkey crowns and Brussels sprouts not far away. However, for one store, the Christmas food options may have gone a little far.

Following on from the news that a popular pub chain has introduced a new burger that comes stuffed between two glazed doughnuts earlier this week, Tesco has brought out its own strange doughnut range – turkey and stuffing.

Appropriately named weirdoughs, the mini doughnut bites from the supermarket come with a rather unique turkey and stuffing flavour. It's not the first time that the company has come out with a quite unique doughnut either, with recent years having seen cheese & onion, salt & vinegar and smoky bacon make the doughnut grade.

With the strapline "what do you get when you cross a doughnut with a crisp?" on the bag, it seems like Tesco are really trying to entice snack fans. And while it may seem like a very strange thing to eat, blog A Review a Day has already tried them.

Its verdict? Five out of five, apparently. The reviewer states that "it’s a lot like eating the real thing, but in dough form. It’s soft, slightly chewy, and it certainly has a very bold stuffing flavour, with a lovely meaty hint behind it".

If you can suspend the disbelief at chewing on a meat flavoured doughnut, you might want to give them a try, although we'd recommend going for the actual thing when it comes to Christmas.

It's not the first time a store has brought out a rather unconventional Christmas treat – earlier this month, Harrods unveiled its new Christmas tree range, which included a completely edible chocolate tree. At £700, the 6ft-high tree comes with a whole range of different chocolatey delights that will tempt you all the way to Christmas day. ADNFCR-2867-ID-801759982-ADNFCR
