A pair of teenagers are throwing an extravagant get-together in an effort to raise funds for troops injured while serving for their country.
Laura Keeley – an 18-year-old riding instructor – and her friend Meg Lewis are organising a black-tie ball to take place in January that they hope will generate cash for the Help for Heroes cause, the Bourne Local reports.
The pair said they were inspired to create the event after attending a similar spectacle last year and discovering there were no plans to repeat the party.
It will include a three-course dinner and auction and is a strictly over-18s-only affair.
Ms Keeley commented: "Both my grandfathers were in the forces and I have friends who are currently serving. I just think Help for Heroes is such a worthy cause."
Member of boyband The Wanted Nathan Sykes recently told This is Gloucestershire his favourite gig with the group was at the Help for Heroes concert recently held at Twickenham Stadium.
