A teenage singer has collected over £16,000 for Help for Heroes (H4H) through a series of concerts and performances.

Tamsin Ball gave up her job as a hairdresser six months ago so she could concentrate on singing professionally, the North Devon Gazette reports.

So far, she has visited towns and cities across the south-west of England – with venues including shopping malls, holiday parks, hotels and pubs – as she seeks to raise as much money as possible for the military charity.

"I have met some wonderfully generous people from all walks of life who have put their hands in their pockets in support of our wounded service personnel," the 19-year-old stated.

Ms Ball – who has been given a special certificate by H4H to mark her achievement – plans to do it all again in the summer and is also hoping to record an album in March.
