Help for Heroes stands to gain from a swimming event that is due to take place in Salisbury next month.

A group of keen swimmers have decided to use the annual Rotary Swimathon at Godolphin pool as a chance to raise money for charity, reports the Salisbury Journal.

Over the last eight years, more than £100,000 has been donated to good causes, and this year it is the turn of Help for Heroes to benefit.

The aim of the event is for people to see how far they can swim in 55 minutes, and schools, businesses, sports clubs and community groups are all invited to enter teams of participants.

As things stand, a few places for the afternoon sessions still remain, so there is the potential for even more cash to be raised.

Help for Heroes will take a slice of the donations, along with The Unit and Hounds for Heroes.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801559375-ADNFCR
