Falling asleep on the job is not advisable in most professions, but it is a definite no-no for criminals.

However, one suspected bungling burglar in the US appears to have done just that after the owner of a home in Hillsboro, Oregon discovered an unexpected occupant in their home.

Cristian Villerreal-Castillo was woken by police who confirmed a number of electronic gadgets, including GPS units, were found in the snoozing man's pockets.

It is thought that Mr Villerreal-Castillo nodded off while taking items from the property and he has been charged with burglary, attempted theft, trespassing and criminal mischief.

Currently being held on bail, the 20-year-old has also been linked to an earlier burglary in the area, while the Washington County Sheriff's Office has reminded local residents to be vigilant and make sure their doors and windows remain locked.

The man may wish to reassess his career plan, however, as this occupation seems to be tiring him out!
