A group of Sunderland students are hoping to show their support for military personnel injured serving their country.

The young scholars from Espa College – which is an Independent Specialist Further Education College that provides services to individuals between 16 and 25 with an autism spectrum disorder – are hoping to generate plenty in the way of funds for Help for Heroes by recording an uplifting single, the Sunderland Echo reports.

Having first performed the song at the college's Christmas carol service in Sunderland Minister, the band have now laid down the track professionally and are hoping it will prove a hit among all those associated with the armed forces.

Jak Dixon, assistant college co-ordinator at the learning establishment, said he has contacted people in the military in an effort to drum up interest and noted: "Espa students regularly get involved in charity fund-raising projects, to help broaden their understanding of others, the most recent being Help for Heroes."
