A student talent show is being held in an effort to raise money for brave troops injured while on the front line.

The event – named Show Me The Talent – is to be organised by students at Prince Henry's High School and will see ten acts going head-to-head to generate funds for Help for Heroes, the Tewkesbury Admag reports.

Jessica Willett, who is putting the show together, said the charity is one that is close to her heart.

She explained: "I'm an air cadet and do a lot of work for Help for Heroes so we thought this would be a good opportunity for other sixth formers to get involved."

The night will also include a performance by guest band Fighting Shadows, who will be playing a rendition of their new single.

A joint venture between the Sun newspaper, Cory Environmental and JCB that will see a barge on the River Thames adorned with Christmas decorations is aiming to raise money for Help for Heroes, Letsrecycle.com reported.
