A darts star, snooker ace and pool legend will join forces this weekend in an event to support soldiers and raise funds for Help for Heroes.

Martin Adams, Joe Perry and Andy Lucas are joining the 24-hour pool marathon at March Royal British Legion Club on Saturday (May 28th), the Cambs Times reports.

It will see ordinary members of the body test their skills against the pros, with each of the lengthy matches sponsored to earn money for the charity.

Representative Paul Larham said: "We want to create a bit more awareness about Help for Heroes and make sure that it's never forgotten."

Alongside the tournament there will be a charity auction to boost funds, as well as other surprise activities.

The charity recently announced it is financing a new rehabilitation centre for injured troops in Plymouth, which will take over from the temporary Davenport base and is set to open in 2012.
