A special exhibition of artwork created by ex-service personnel will go on display, and is set to coincide with Armed Forces Day.

The artists behind the work are those that have gone through mental health treatment funded by the charity Combat Stress, at their Surrey Treatment Centre.

The work has been produced as part of a creative treatment programme used within the Art Therapy and Occupational Therapy sessions.

It will go on display in Surrey Cathedral from June 22nd to 28th.

This year, Armed forces Day takes place on June 27th and will be marked by a number of events taking place across the country.

Other events in the pipeline include a Military Pageant with WWI Commemoration Airshow, which is held in honour of the contribution made by soldiers.

The show will include flying displays of some of the most genuine, rare First World War aircraft in Europe.

Families will also be able to see and experience many aspects of the life of a First World War soldier by visiting the Living History Area in Flitwick.

The event takes place at number 10, Vicarage Hill on July 5th.

In Ripley, the local town council will be holding a carnival. It will include a parade through the town with floats and military vehicles.

Local cadet forces will be attending the event, which will include a food and a bar for the entire weekend.

It will also feature entertainment, as well as play facilities for the children and families and parking will be available.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801788566-ADNFCR
