A British soldier is spreading Christmas cheer all the way to Africa by sending orphans in Sierra Leone hundreds of presents.
Warrant officer Class 1 Rob Seabridge was posted to the country in 2006 for two years and was moved by the wonderful kids he met while out there.
To put a smile on their young faces, he collected hundreds of items ranging from wheelchairs, bunk beds, spectacles, clothes and toys for them to open at Christmas.
He is now trying to raise money to help cover the £2,500 cost of sending the gifts out there.
Warrant officer Seabridge said there was one little girl in particular who inspired him to do something to help the children.
"There was a small child who used to hang around the camp. I asked who she was and was told her name was Sia and that she was the daughter of the late lieutenant Mbowa in the Sierra Leone army," he stated.
Meanwhile, troops on the front line in Afghanistan are to receive some Christmas cheer as well, with the uk4u Thanks charity sending lots of gifts to Helmand Province.
