Single soldiers looking for Mrs Right might be wise to try their luck online, as this is what one woman is doing in order to find her future husband.

Tea Smith from Perth, Australia, has used social networking sites to launch a campaign, the West Australian reports.

She first tweeted about her relationship status, writing: "An iPad, or $500 to the person who sets me up with the person I marry. Go, power of social media."

When the post attracted hundreds of hits, Ms Smith decided to take her mission to the next level and create a blog post, where she described her qualities to potential partners.

And the 32-year-old says she is "used to making a spectacle of myself online", so she is not worried about how she might come across.

Once people start to respond to her request, Ms Smith might find advice from the Independent useful, as the news source recently suggested it is important to follow dating etiquette and be polite upon a first introduction.
