Demetria L Lucas, writing in the Root, observed ladies should sign up for niches sites that reflect the type of guy they are after.
With online dating now the third most popular means of meeting a partner, individuals have nothing to be afraid of when using this medium.
"Just like showing up to an event hoping to meet new people, you'll need to put in some effort to meet who you like online [though]," Ms Lucas added.
She added simply signing up to a website is not enough, as individuals have to put in the additional effort if they want to get the desired results.
Because of this, women should spend some time creating their profile so that it appears as both snappy and interesting, thus encouraging the opposite sex to respond to their messages.
