Single soldiers out there who don’t already participate in an occasional run may want to start doing so, as a new study has revealed that joggers enjoy a more active sex life that those who never run.

The survey by Sue Ryder Care found that one in ten joggers have sex at least once a day, while three per cent said they get busy twice a day, the Telegraph reported.

In comparison, one-quarter of non-runners admitted to having sex once a month or less.

Laura Savory, running and events manager for the charity, said: "We were tickled to discover this new craze which seems to have really caught on everywhere. We’re hoping this will encourage more Brits to get running."

She added that with the survey revealing that 25 per cent of joggers go running to help them flirt with the opposite sex, ‘flunning’ (flirting while running) provides the perfect opportunity for singletons to meet their love match.

A similar study, published in the British Medical Journal, recently found that fit soldiers can enjoy a more satisfying and longer sex life than those who are in ill-health.
