A singer is looking to raise £75,000 for a military charity.

Woolstones resident Nikki Murray is donating profits from his new single to Help for Heroes (H4H), MK News reports.

The 28-year-old got the idea after he watched a news report while working in Sweden about soldiers who had been injured while on the front line.

Mr Murray said the report inspired him to do something positive for UK troops and so he penned the tune I'm Coming Back.

"The song is about the soldiers and their relationships with their wives and husbands and the fact that partners of other people don't have to worry about their loved ones not coming home," he added.

Mr Murray has performed with Leona Lewis, Celine Dion, James Blunt and Cheryl Cole in the past.

Bryn Parry, co-founder of H4H, stated it is great to see how people use their creativity to help soldiers.
