Online dating can be a great way to meet people with similar interests and find a potential partner.

Some people might even find the platform so successful that they become interested in more than one individual, but is it fair to date numerous people in this way?

One Boston Globe reader asked this question to relationships columnist Meredith Goldstein, as he has been on three dates with two different women but wonders if he should tell each one about the other.

Ms Goldstein replies: "I'm giving you a five-date limit. You don't have to choose a partner by date five, but you do have to discuss the issue with both women."

This might clarify the situation, as the male may well learn that his partners are both dating others as well.

The reader claims he does not want to two-time the women and his comments follow remarks from Drew Lubega, editor of AskMen UK, who recently said men put a lot of value on meaningful relationships.
