Cricket legend Shane Warne is to take part in a charity cricket match that is aiming to generate funds for Help for Heroes.
The Australian spinner and England hero Darren Gough have both agreed to play in the contest next June, which will see a number of high-profile names head to Burbage & Eastern Royal Cricket Club, This is Wiltshire reports.
It will be a six-a-side tournament and Warne and Gough will be turning out for the Lashings World XI team.
Burbridge secretary Russ Buck said the news is quite a coup for the set-up.
He remarked: "We won't know which players are coming until nearer the time, but if we could get three or four of the top guys it would be great."
Finalists from this year's X Factor show – which was won by Matt Cardle – recently hit the top of the charts with a cover of the David Bowie hit Heroes, with proceeds going towards Help for Heroes.
