A naked calendar is set to be launched this week in order to raise money for British troops.

The Dumfries and Galloway Standard reports some 30 local ladies agreed to strip in aid of the soldiers' charity Help for Heroes.

To celebrate the fundraiser, Jumpin Jacks nightclub will be hosting a night tomorrow (November 12th), where the stars of the calendar will be strutting their stuff and attendees will also be treated to a full monty performance by the town's rugby players.

Artist Christopher Donald and his friend Alyson McVay are hoping to bring in thousands of pounds for the organisation.

Ms McVay commented: "The idea for the calendar began as a joke, but the more people we told, the more interest we seemed to get and it escalated from there."

Cash was also raised for soldiers recently with the formation of a huge 'Link of Love' human chain between Market Drayton and the Tern Hill barracks in aid of the Army Benevolent Fund, Midlands Air Ambulance and Help for Heroes, according to the Shropshire Star.
