A schoolgirl has become possibly the youngest owner of a Ferrari, after her father built her a half-size version of the legendary 1962 model, the 250 GTO.

Scarlett Gurr is surely the envy of the playground after her dad Stuart's incredible gesture, which has seen her take control of the vehicle, reports Metro.

It has been completed with a 49cc engine in place, meaning it has a top speed of about 15mph – just enough for Scarlett to pop to the park or to buy sweets.

The little girl is said to be planning to take part in the Little Big Man race at Le Mans next year, and she is already a member of the British Women Racing Drivers' Club.

This is not the first time that Mr Gurr has gone to great lengths to satisfy his daughter's motoring demands, as he is said to have previously built her a replica of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and a number of Type 35 Bugattis.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801587918-ADNFCR
