A group of schoolchildren have raised money for brave troops injured while serving on the frontline – by dressing up as their heroes.

Pupils from Bressingham Primary School donned outfits to make them look like the people they most admire – and managed to generate £290 for Help for Heroes, Diss Express reports.

The event was organised by the school council and saw youngsters dress up in all manner of attire.

Some came along representing athletics stars, others dressed as knights and a few wanted to be superheroes.

A handful of kids even came fitted out to look like their parents, while one dressed as her grandmother, who suffers from cancer.

Wristband sales and a contest for the best outfit ensured the group raised a healthy amount for the cause.

The Widnes Weekly News recently reported that John Nelson, who has a son, a daughter and a son-in-law serving in Afghanistan, collected £1050 for Help for Heroes through his local Morrisons supermarket.
