Two schoolboys from Sidcup have done their bit for charity by writing a song that is being used to raise funds for Help for Heroes.

Lewis Dowse and Tom Gomes, both 14, penned Home for Christmas with the help of their school's musician in residence John Gilbert, reports the News Shopper.

They attend Hurstmere School and performed the song at its annual Christmas carol service, which took place recently at the Holy Trinity Church in Sidcup.

Edward Prentice, Kent's volunteer coordinator for Help for Heroes, said: "I'm very impressed with their talent and what a wonderful way to raise funds for the charity."

Anyone who feels like supporting the boys and the good cause can download the track from iTunes, Amazon MP3, Google Play and other digital platforms.

Home for Christmas tells the story of a soldier who is stationed overseas on active duty in the run-up to the festive season and is waiting to find out if he will be allowed home in time.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801675847-ADNFCR
