Over the years, there have been many pictures released worldwide that purport to show aliens and their spaceships. If there's one thing these many sightings have taught us, it's that our extraterrestrial friends would really rather not be photographed.

However, one man in Manchester claims that a recent visit from outer space was quite different, with aliens actually using a mind control ray in order to command him to take a picture of their flying saucer…which may or may not have actually been a cloud or a bit of fluff on the lens of his camera.

John Hindley, 35, told Metro that was sat at home when he felt a 'pulling sensation' all of a sudden. This jerked him across the room, leaving him feeling a strong urge to take a picture of an object he believed he saw flying over the Pennines.

"I just got up and I felt this pull to take a picture out the window there and then. I just got up from the sofa and something drew me to the window. I took the picture not realising what it was," Mr Hindley said.

He then went on to say that the mysterious craft with lights on stayed over the Pennines, potentially sight seeing, for a period of up to half an hour, before it disappeared.

Two days later, Mr Hindley again felt drawn to his camera, but this time it was to look at the photo he had snapped days earlier. When he zoomed in, he claimed, all he saw was a UFO in the centre of the snap.

"I definitely think it could have been a UFO. I think people more people are realising that we are not the only people floating around the vicinity.

"I mean the photo shows the lights shining through the clouds. I really don’t think it is a reflection – look at the saucer shaped object and the lights and the two lines coming out of the bottom."ADNFCR-2867-ID-801760833-ADNFCR
