A salon worker in the north-east town of Hartlepool is doing her bit to support wounded soldiers by holding a fundraising event this weekend.

Jamielee Spence, 24, is showing her admiration for brother Corporal Carl Spence, who crawled more than 90ft in soaring heat to reach casualties after an explosion in Afghanistan, reports the Hartlepool Mail.

She is hosting a fun day with tombolas, raffles and auctions at the Vikki Ryan Salon and Boutique in Lister Street on Saturday (February 23rd) and all of the money raised will be donated to Help for Heroes (H4H).

"Vikki wanted to organise an event to celebrate being open a year and we all agreed that Help for Heroes was a brilliant cause. We have got all sorts going on," explained Ms Spence.

The event will be child-friendly, as organisers have arranged for a host of popular Disney and television characters to make an appearance.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801544678-ADNFCR
