A special fundraising day is being held at a nature reserve to raise money for injured troops – and servicemen and women have been invited to join in the fun.

Wolburn Safari Park will be staging the event and members of the armed forces can get in to the venue for a discounted fee of £10, Eva-news.com reports.

Soldiers just need to bring along their service identification on February 18th and their special ticket means they get to go on unlimited circuits of the foot safari – where they can get up close to tigers and elephants – as well as visit the Land of Lemurs and Monkey Business attractions.

The park will also be collecting donations for the cause – which helps soldiers wounded in battle – throughout the half-term week of February 19th to 27th.

Charity fundraiser Irene Edwards – who has generated more than £130,000 for the Christie Hospital in Manchester – is now setting her sights on raising cash for Help for Heroes, the Crewe Chronicle recently reported.
