A number of ex-rugby union players will play a specially arranged game to raise money for Help for Heroes.

Lawrence Dallaglio, Ieuan Evans and Jason Leonard will take charge of a Northern Hemisphere side, while Michael Lynagh and Sean Fitzpatrick are overseeing the Southern Hemisphere outfit.

The game is taking place at Twickenham on December 3rd and there will be armed forces members represented on both teams.

All of the costs associated with hosting the event have been covered through various sponsorship arrangements and so ticket sales will go to the charity.

Some 52,000 spectators turned up at the 2008 version – raising some £1.46 million in the process – and so the organisers will be hoping for a similar turnout this time around.

Already confirmed for the Northern Hemisphere side are Malcolm O'Kelly, Alan Quinlan, Josh Lewsey, Serge Betsen, Kenny Logan and Danny Grewcock.

The game will mark ten years since British troops entered Afghanistan.
