A rugby club in Darlington is hoping to do its bit for Help for Heroes by staging a charity match over the upcoming weekend.
Darlington Mowden Park Rugby Club has named the match against Caldy on Saturday (March 2nd) as its very own Armed Forces Day, reports the Northern Echo.
Several special events will be held to mark the occasion, including a lunch prior to the fixture that will cost £25 and the chance to hire a corporate box for £200.
Anybody who turns up to the match wearing a military uniform will be given free admission as a sign of appreciation for their efforts.
The club held a similar event last season at which it raised more than £2,000 for the charity and organisers believe they can beat that figure this time around.
Darlington Mowden Park play at the town's 25,000-seat stadium that was previously the home of Darlington FC, ensuring the military day will be held in a spectacular setting.
