Organisers of parties to celebrate the royal wedding are showing their support for soldiers by donating their proceeds to Help for Heroes.

Michelle Shakeshaft-Fox from Pensby is organising a party for her family and friends, she told the Wirral Globe.

She wants to create a similar atmosphere to that seen during the Silver and Golden Jubilees and the wedding between Prince Charles and Diana.

Staff at the Farmer's Arms in Frankby are also celebrating with a hog roast, royal breakfast and bungee jump.

Landlady Dawn Snowdon said: "We decided to raise funds for Help for Heroes because of Prince William's involvement with the armed forces."

She says she watched the wedding of Charles and Diana on The Mall and is keen to celebrate with just as much vigour this time around.

Thousands of people are expected to gather in the capital on Friday (April 29th) to see the marriage between Prince William and Kate Middleton.
