Researcher claims to have found UFO crash site in Antarctica

A possible UFO crash site has been spotted in Antarctica, it has been reported.

A Russian researcher, Valentin Degterev, spotted the mysterious object – thought to be 204 ft across.

Satellite photographs have revealed what is believed to be a dark disk-shaped object. The find has sparked suggestions that the object is a flying saucer embedded in the ice.

Mr Degterev, said: "I found the unique object using the online service of Google Earth in Antarctica. In amongst the endless ice desert, it is the most genuine UFO in its most classic shape.

"I do not presume to know exactly what it is. It is definitely not a polar station nor a plane as there aren't any airplanes or helicopters this big in the world."

Although the satellite image was taken in February 2012, Mr Degterev has recently published it online and it has quickly gone viral.

Some people claim there is already a secret UFO base there, while others believe there is a battle kicking off between humans and aliens near the site.

Anyone can view the object by inputting the coordinates 80°34'08.4"S 30°05'19.3"W into Google Maps.

Skeptics say that the shadow is just caused by a crevice. However, Mr Degterev has disputed this.

He said: "It is definitely not a polar station, nor a plane (as there aren't any airplanes or helicopters this big in the world). There also aren't any ships lost in Antarctica. It seems this is a man-made object from the distant cosmos."
