A 12-hour fundraiser was held in Redhill, Surrey, on Saturday (August 11th) to collect money for Help for Heroes (H4H).

Stalls, a bouncy castle, face painting and a DJ were all on hand at the Red Lion pub in order to make the day a success, the Surrey Mirror reports.

Organiser Catherine Koch was delighted with how well the whole event went, adding: "We had lots of children attend during the day and we raised lots of money, it's been brilliant."

Godstone Sergeant Robin Jones was one of the serving soldiers who turned up in support of the extravaganza and he praised the efforts of everyone who took part.

"Without their support none of that would happen. As long as people keep supporting H4H you know you'll be looked after," he added.

Since being started in 2007, H4H has invested £136 million in personnel recovery centre projects in Colchester, Catterick, Tidworth and Plymouth.
