The third annual Help for Heroes 4×4 European Rally will be taking place on June 16th.

It tracks the path of the Allied invasion through Europe during the second world war.

The first two times the challenge has been held has seen over £330,000 has been raised and so competitors will be hoping to boost this total.

In total 2,000 miles will be covered during the expedition, which is described as a family-friendly event.

Over the course of 12 days, groups will make their way through six countries – including the Netherlands, Belgium and France – and it has been described as part military history tour and part social experience.

Jaguar Land Rover, O2, the AA and Brittany Ferries are among the partners who are helping to organise the event.

It starts off from Littlecote House Hotel in North Wiltshire and there are a maximum of 45 teams allowed to take part.
